Delivering Innovation

Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet? Fortunately, the holidays are over and a new year has come. But what will 2008 bring? Greater abundance, prosperity, love, happiness? Now is the perfect time to take an honest look at our outer lives. Are we where we want to be financially, in our careers, in our relationships? Are we attracting what we really want in each of these areas of our life? For many of us, myself included, the answer would be no, but that’s okay. The truth is that no matter where we are, no matter what our past is, we CAN change and improve our lives and we can do this by taking a look at our inner life, our inner selves. So I’ve put together a few steps to help you (and me) start making our New Year’s resolutions and dreams come true and make 2008 a great one.

1: Define:

The first step is to define what your goals and dreams are. We all have thoughts about how we would like our lives to change. We all daydream, so to speak, saying to ourselves “wow, if only I had this or could do that”. Ask yourself, what does having a great 2008 mean to you? What does it really look like? Mentally visualize it in your mind as if it were actually possible. This is your vision. Now make it clearer and more specific by writing it down. Make a list and be sure to include everything you can think of. There is great power in writing because writing brings clarity and clarity brings power because now the universe knows what you want.

2: Meditate:

The second step is to pray and meditate. I know this may sound a bit weird to you, because it happened to me at the beginning too. However, you will find that some of the most successful and prosperous people pray and meditate. Because? Because everyone has unique gifts and talents and a purpose in life. But how do we know what that is? Through prayer and mediation we can connect with our souls and listen to our inner voice of wisdom and guidance. What is your mission? Meditate quieting your mind and relaxing your body. So ask yourself this question, for what purpose were you called here? Practice this exercise and soon you will notice that you are beginning to receive new inspiration, new ideas, new guidance. The secret to mediation is to keep practicing it because it may not happen to you right away. It’s a process, but if it’s done regularly and consistently, over time you’ll start to notice the messages you’re getting from deep within, your inner voice. Meditate first, then follow your heart. That will be your mission, your unique purpose for your life.

3: Focus and commit to action:

Ok, now we have made a list of our dreams and goals for 2008, we have prayed and meditated, we have a vision and a mission, so how do we make it happen in this new year? Well, it starts with focusing on our dreams and goals and asking ourselves questions. What would it realistically take to make these goals and dreams a reality? What has to happen? What do you need to change? What skills or education do I need? Listen to what arises for you, and then be aware of the things that begin to happen, the people that you begin to meet, the opportunities that begin to arise. These things are not just coincidences but how it is going to happen, the plan the universe has for you. Stay focused. The more focused you are, letting go of all limiting thoughts and beliefs, the more things will start to happen. Momentum will build, moving you in the direction of achieving your dreams and goals. It will become wonderfully exciting, but know that challenges and problems will arise as these changes begin to happen in your life. Don’t be discouraged, it’s normal and everyone, even highly successful people experience this. Just stay committed to your goals and dreams. Know this, we all have the ability to succeed. We all have what it takes. We can all do it and we can all make it a great 2008!
