Delivering Innovation

This is an updated version of an ancient Hawaiian problem-solving process that included repentance, forgiveness, and transmutation. Self Identity, through Ho’oponopono, was developed by Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, and is now taught by Ihaleakala Hew Len, Ph.D..

We have referred to it as a cleaning tool or as a troubleshooting method. Both are correct. When we started doing Ho’oponopono, honestly, we did it on a trial basis. It was hard for us to understand, let alone accept, that we are 100% responsible for everything that happens in our lives. Surely there are other people in our environment who share responsibility for some effects?

However, there was all this evidence that began to build. First, we would do Ho’oponopono on the road when it was crowded/blocked/jammed, and still make it to work on time. Later, we tried it when we were in a negotiation, and Ho’oponopono worked like a charm. I was talking to someone on the phone who was clearly telling me that what I wanted them to do was against their policy and not possible, and after 3 silent Ho’oponopono, they were giving me what I wanted.

These simple things are not mind blowing, we know. And, they could be coincidence. But when it works every day, for all sorts of things, you start to be convinced. Crying children seem comforted when I do Ho’oponopono in their presence. A five-year-old girl who is developing a very active pain-body (Tolle’s terms) and cries at any little imagined provocation, or actual provocation, seems to find comfort whether I say Ho’oponopono or she says it. She has the shortened version of it, “I’m sorry.”

Dr. Hew Len explains that there are three parts to the mind. The Superconscious mind is connected with the cosmos, with the Divine, with the original creative intelligence or with the Infinite and Divine Intelligence. The soul includes both the conscious and the subconscious mind. When we come to this world, we come from the Void. Our identity originated in the Void. To return to our Own Identity, we must work to recover the Void. We do this by erasing our memories, our habitual ways, and our automatic responses. Ho’oponopono is a request to Divine Intelligence to cleanse or transmute our memories into light or emptiness.

Once we recover our Self-Identity in the Void, we are open to Divine inspiration through our Super Conscious mind. This requires continuous cleaning through Ho’oponopono. Emptiness is the common ground of all self-identities, explains Dr. Hew Len. It is the “indestructible and timeless foundation of the entire cosmos.”

The Ho’oponopono process:

Thomas Troward would say, this is our connection to the Cosmic Mind. The Cosmic Mind has two parts, the Substantive Being and the Active Power. The first is all Love, Light, Power, Beauty and Joy and the second is Universal Spirit that provides movement and flow. Once we are connected to these, we are in harmony with the conscious creation of reality. When we are filled with memories and unconsciously act on these memories, we are creating reality, but unconsciously. To correct this, we search for Self-Identity through Ho’oponopono.

Our Conscious Mind initiates the Ho’oponopono request to transmute memories into light or into the void. You acknowledge 100% responsibility for the issue at hand. Just experiment. Test it. As you begin to experience the Ho’oponopono effect, it will become apparent that we are 100% responsible. If we weren’t 100% responsible, then our Ho’oponopono wouldn’t have the tremendous effect it does. (Eckhardt Tolle would explain that this is a way of separating from what he calls the ego, and this is how we achieve enlightenment.)

Once the request has been initiated, the conscious mind accepts that the problem is “memories replaying in the subconscious mind.” The request goes down to the subconscious mind. This movement arouses memories for transmutation. The request ascends from the subconscious mind to the superconscious mind.

The superconscious mind reviews the request and makes any necessary changes as explained by Dr. Hew Len. The petition is then sent to Divine Intelligence for consideration. Then the Divine Intelligence sends transmutation energy through the Superconscious mind, through the Conscious mind to the Subconscious mind. The memories that cause the problem are neutralized and released.

Memories never rest and never sleep. An incessant cleaning is needed to recover the Self Identity. Until the Conscious mind is awakened, it is unaware of the gift of Self-Identity, which is inspiration and, as Dr. Hew Len says, “Wealth beyond all understanding.” Dr. Hew Len goes further, stating that the physical world we experience is an expression of replaying memories or inspirations taking place in the Self Identity soul. Once the state of self-identity is changed, the state of the physical world is changed.

The process consists of four parts:

1) “I love you.” This is for the memories. Use this over and over again because even if you are not aware of the issues, it will help erase those memories and allow a clear channel of inspiration to flow from Divine Intelligence.

2) “I’m sorry.” This is your acknowledgment of responsibility for creating, accumulating, or accepting the memories that play back and cause problems.

3) “Please forgive me.” This is a post request for having caused the problem.

4) Request that the memories be transmuted and neutralized and released. This is the province of Divine Intelligence. This is followed by a “thank you”.

The effect:

We have mentioned some of the effects that we have experienced, but Dr. Hew Len worked with inmates in a prison for the insane, and these results were miraculous. He treated them without meeting with the inmates as a therapist. He reviewed his charts, and when he had an idea about them, he cleaned them up. The first results were that the staff felt less threatened and vulnerable. Patients/inmates required fewer medications and restraints were less frequent. Then some began to improve. They were allowed some outdoor recreation time that hadn’t been happening, and eventually all but one regained their sanity.

Dr. Hew Len accepted 100% responsibility and worked only on his feelings, asked for his own cleansing and transmutation of his own memories and one by one the patients recovered. As Dr. Hew Len told Joe Vitale, did he ever know a mental health worker who had mentally healthy patients? Wouldn’t it be obvious that the common denominator is the therapist? If the therapist recovers his own identity, his patients will also recover.

An added benefit of the therapist cleanse is inspired work. And, this will work for any relationship, family or business, because on the road, or potential clients. Joe Vitale uses it in his books and found that the books he ignored didn’t do as well as the books he “loved”. Once he does Ho’oponopono and sends love and apologies to his less crowded books, his sales increase.

We wish you great fortune and your own identity. As you read more of Eckhart Tolle’s work, you will see a relationship between Tolle’s ego-seeking drama and Hew Len’s subconscious memories.

As Dr. Hew Len says: “Clear, clear, clear and return to port: the Void we all came from.” This is Self Identity through Ho’oponopono.
