Most children cannot explain any problems or communicate any discomfort they are experiencing. This makes the situation difficult for parents to understand. In this fast-paced, modern society, our children are at increased risk of many chronic diseases, including diabetes. Since children are too young to be able to recognize the signs of diabetes in them, it is the responsibility of the parents to constantly monitor their health and general physical condition.

Although children are thought to show different signs of diabetes, the diabetic warning symptoms in young children are more or less the same. If the young child suffers from type 1 diabetes, his pancreas becomes unable to produce insulin. If the child suffers from type 2 diabetes, young children begin to generate the necessary amount of insulin, but the cells of the body become unable to respond positively to this insulin.

The rising rate of obesity in children is another sign of diabetes. If as parents you are well aware of the warning signs of diabetes in children, then you are in a better position to detect the disease as early as possible.

Excessive urination: It is the trademark of diabetes. It is the sign that adults easily recognize. In type 1 diabetes, the blood sugar level rises due to a deficiency in insulin production. The sugar then sneaks out through the urine. This sugar is diluted with water and then removed through the kidneys. This excess water makes children urinate even more often. The sign of diabetes can be noticed if the child urinates a lot during the day and gets up at night.

Third extreme: Frequent urination leads to extreme thirst. The diabetic child’s body required excess water. As they become dehydrated, they drink additional water to replenish the broth.

Extreme hunger: Unexpectedly, the infant stat craves food at abrupt intervals. Lack of insulin results in an inadequate supply of energy to various organs in the body. The body then has to use the fat as the main fuel for the body.

Unexplained weight loss: The most alarming sign of diabetes is that a healthy child suddenly begins to lose weight. Another sign of diabetes is sudden weight loss. It is important that parents consider this sign very serious and talk to their pediatrician.

Diaper Rash: These are very uncomfortable for small children. If these rashes do not heal even after applying the ointments, it is better to consult a doctor.

Fatigue: Children suffering from diabetes also suffer from weakness. The body is unable to produce energy through the food consumed, so the child feels tired and fatigued.

In addition to the signs of diabetes mentioned above, the child begins to feel dizzy, depressed, and nauseated.
